925 STERLING SILVER
What is 925 Sterling Silver?
Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver blended with 7.5% strengthening alloys. It’s beautiful, durable, and naturally prone to surface oxidation (tarnish). Tarnish is normal and easily reversible with simple care.
Daily Care (Do/Don’t)
Do
- Put jewelry on last, after lotions, perfumes, sunscreen, and hair products.
- Wipe pieces with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth after each wear to remove oils and sweat.
- Rotate pieces; give items a day off after heavy wear.
Avoid
- Prolonged contact with water, sweat, saltwater, or chlorinated pools.
- Harsh chemicals (cleaners, bleach, sulfur-rich hot springs).
- Contact sports or gym sessions (abrasion can scratch or bend delicate parts).
- Storing damp or in bathrooms (humidity accelerates tarnish).
FRESHWATER PEARLS
Pearls are organic gems. Treat them like skin: gentle products, no harsh chemicals, and a soft cloth goes a long way.
Daily basics
- Last on, first off. Put pearls on after perfume, hairspray, sunscreen, and makeup. Take them off before undressing.
- Wipe after wear. Use a clean, soft, lint-free cloth to remove oils and perspiration.
Cleaning (safe method)
- Dampen a soft cloth with lukewarm water and a drop of mild, pH-neutral soap.
- Gently wipe pearls; avoid soaking and avoid getting water into metal joins.
- Rinse the cloth with clean water, wipe again to remove soap.
- Lay flat on a towel to air-dry completely before storing.
Never use ultrasonic/steam cleaners, abrasive cloths, alcohol, vinegar, lemon juice, or ammonia.
Storage
- Separate & soft. Store in a fabric pouch or a lined box away from harder jewelry to prevent scratches.
- Let them breathe. Avoid long-term airtight storage or silica gel; pearls like a bit of ambient humidity.
- Keep away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
MOISSANITE
Moissanite is very durable and needs very little care. Clean only when it looks dull.
Quick clean (when needed):Mix lukewarm water + a drop of mild dish soap. Soak 2–5 min. Gently brush around/under the stone with a soft toothbrush. Rinse and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.
Tip: Avoid harsh chemicals (they can affect the metal setting, not the stone). That’s it.
